Rebecca Rodriguez is a Teach Plus California and a Teach Plus Los Angeles Teaching Policy Fellow. She teaches 11th grade U.S History at Camino Nuevo Charter Academy – Miramar High School, where she also advises the senior committee, is a professional learning community lead, is on the extended leadership team, and is the union representative. Rebecca has been a Policy Fellow with the California Charter School Association and an Elevating and Celebrating Effective Teaching and Teachers (ECET2 ) participant, and has presented on the importance of teacher voice in policy at the National Charter School Summit. A first-generation college student, Rebecca became a teacher to repay her community for the support and opportunities she was given, in order to help students like herself have similar opportunities. She graduated from the California State University of Fullerton with a BA in History and Sociology and a MEd in secondary education.
