Rhochelle Krawetz is a Teach Plus Rhode Island Teaching Policy Fellow. She is the 7th grade science teacher, 7th grade chair, and science department chair at Blackstone Valley Prep Middle School in Central Falls. Before moving to Rhode Island, Rhochelle was a Teach for America Corps Member in New York City, where she taught middle school science at UnCommon Schools and Achievement First. Rhochelle received the 2016 Maitland P. Simmons award for excellence in science education in the first five years of teaching from the National Science Teachers Association. She serves on the Rhode Island EQuIP Peer Review Panel to vet science curricula and has presented on her work on Next Generation Science Standards and the EQuIP rubric at the Rhode Island Science Teachers Association Annual Conference. Rhochelle earned her BA from The University of Chicago, and her MAT from Relay Graduate School of Education.
