Fatima Salgado is a 2024-2025 Illinois Policy Fellow and teaches 9th-12th grade special education at John Hancock College Prep High School in Chicago, Illinois. She is a Chicago Teacher Residency Mentor and Chicago Teachers Union Professional Problems Committee member. During Fatima’s elementary teaching years, she was part of the Continuous Improvement Work Plan (CIWP) committee and professional development lead for Capturing Kids Hearts. She was a Coach Foundation Teacher Awardee (2024) and is affiliated with the Golden Apple Foundation and Grow Your Own Teacher Program. Fatima earned her BA in special education at Northeastern Illinois University and MEd in teaching English learners from the American College of Education.
