Connor Schmidt is a 2022-2023 Teach Plus Texas RISD Change Agent, 3rd grade math teacher, and child advocate at Skyview Elementary in Dallas, Texas. He is passionate about agentive, transdisciplinary teaching practices that empower students to take charge of their learning. Connor has taught in both Hong Kong and Beijing where he designed conceptual and transdisciplinary curricula for early learners. Connor received a distinguished designation for educational work during his studies at The University of Hong Kong. Connor began his teaching career in early childhood and has taught ELs from ages 2-6 in an International Baccalaureate school. He earned his BA in Strategic Communications from Calvin University and his PGDE in Early Childhood Education at the University in Hong Kong. Connor is currently working on his MEd in Educational Leadership at the University of Texas A&M in Commerce.
