Ryleigh Scott is a 2023-2024 Senior Fellow, and was a member of the 2022-2023 cohort of the MTLC. She is a high school English and newspaper teacher at Grand Ledge High School in Grand Ledge, Michigan. She focuses on using culturally responsive teaching to help her students become critical thinkers, readers, and writers, and using the formative assessment process to inform her instruction and feedback models. She currently leads the Women’s Equality Club and Key Club in her school and serves as part of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion team in her building. Ryleigh began her career in education at the Michigan Assessment Consortium, where she worked as a project assistant in developing tools and resources to support educators in their assessment practices. She earned her BA in Social Relations and Policy from James Madison College at Michigan State University, and a teaching certificate through Michigan Teachers of Tomorrow.
