Cameron Simpkins is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and a high school biology and service learning teacher at Fayetteville High School in Fayetteville. She has served on various building- and district-level committees but is most proud of her projects working towards a more inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students. Cameron was awarded the ARTeacher Fellowship by Crystal Bridges Museum and the University of Arkansas Center for Children & Youth (2018-2022); and the Excellence in Encouraging JEDI Award by the National Association of Biology Teachers (2024). Cameron is the co-founder and executive director of Youth Guardians of Conservation NWA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental stewardship and providing conservation opportunities for high school students. She is an active member of NABT and serves on their Justice Equity Diversity and Inclusion (JEDI) Committee. She earned her BA in biology and secondary education from Ouachita Baptist University and her MA in Teaching English for Speakers of Other Languages from Arkansas Tech University.
