Andie Sowden is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus New Mexico Alumni Policy Fellow. Andie is a 2nd grade teacher and grade-level team leader at Holloman Elementary in Alamogordo, New Mexico. She focuses on helping students to collaborate with each other and assists all learners to do their best everyday. Andie has been a member of the Student Assistance Team, leading meetings with teachers and parents to help their students. Andie began her teaching career in Utah teaching 4th grade and then moved to New Mexico where she became a testing coordinator and has taught various grades between 2nd to 4th. She earned her BA in elementary education with an emphasis in biology from Idaho State University, and she earned her MA in educational technology from Eastern New Mexico University.
