Stephanie Murray is a 2021-2022 Michigan Collaborative Teacher Leader. She is currently a literacy instructor to 16- to 24-year-old young adults who have chosen to seek an alternative learning experience. At the onset of her teaching career, she accepted her call to serve the at-risk population of Detroit and surrounding communities and has been doing so for the past 17 years. She takes pride in mentoring students beyond the classroom and into adulthood. Her passion and dedication to educate and empower youth and young adults have been recognized with honors such as the IMAGINE Mentoring Program’s 2013 Mentor of the Year and Detroit Job Corps Center’s January 2019 Employee of the Month. She earned her BA in English and Psychology from University of Michigan and her MA in Reading and Literacy K-12 from Central Michigan.
