La’Tia Taylor is a 2022-23 Illinois Distributed Leadership Fellow and Kindergarten teacher at Hendricks Elementary. She also serves as a Framework Specialist, instructional leadership team member, and new teacher mentor for Chicago Public Schools. She has previously held the roles of a primary team lead, math instructional lead, and local school council teacher representative. La’Tia was selected to be on Chicago Public School’s Teacher Advisory Council from 2017-2018, in which she addressed teacher recruitment and retention. La’Tia has been awarded the CPS Network 9 Outstanding Teacher Award, Teach2Give Teacher Award, and was nominated for the 2018 Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching. She earned a BA in Early Childhood Education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a MA in Educational Leadership from Roosevelt University.
