Ana Torres is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Educator Diversity Action Network Member. She is a high school math teacher and leader in Oakland, California. Ana leads professional development for teachers on Complex Instruction and critical thinking in math. She also coaches the geometry team and creates curriculum. Ana was a supervisor for Stanford’s Teacher Education Program, as well as a Hollyhock Fellowship Instructor for the Stanford Graduate School Education. She is a Light Award Grant recipient and Hollyhock Fellow. Ana has worked with newcomer students in Oakland, creating engaging curriculum and helping students work collaboratively in math. She has also worked as a Teacher on Special Assignment with San Mateo School District, creating curriculum, coaching math teachers, and leading professional development sessions. She earned her BA in business administration from California State East Bay and master’s in math education from Stanford University.
