Elizabeth Toye is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Michigan Policy Fellow and a 9th-grade math teacher and PTHVP coordinator at Cody High School in Detroit. She focuses on building stronger relationships between the school and students’ families to help foster a more genuine sense of community and better meet students’ needs. She previously taught middle school math at Marion Law Academy and began her career in education in Chicago as a City Year student success coach. She is a 2019 Teach for America Detroit Corps Member. She earned her BA in political science from Florida International University and an MSEd in educational studies from Johns Hopkins University.
