Peter Walblay is a 2022-2023 Michigan Collaborative Senior Teacher Leader. He is an English and social studies teacher at Ottawa Hills High School in the Grand Rapids Public School System. Additionally, he is staff coordinator for the Early Warning Indicator Committee and a member of the education/curriculum development team for The Diatribe, a non-profit group which empowers and uplifts student voices. Peter is entering his eighth year of teaching and has taught in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System as well as in Valledupar, Colombia. Peter earned his BA in English, Group Social Studies, and Secondary Education from Grand Valley State University and received a TESOL teaching endorsement from Louisiana State University. He also earned a MEd in Literacy with an emphasis in TESOL from Grand Valley State University and recently enrolled in doctoral classes at Michigan State University to pursue a degree in curriculum, teaching, and instruction.
