Allison Walker is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus California Senior Policy Fellow. She is an 8th grade education specialist at Bear Valley Middle School in Escondido, California. Allison focuses on culturally relevant and equity focused literacy instruction while also managing students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). She holds the administrative designee position while leading the Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) team at her school. Allison has also led the school’s equity team and was named the district’s “Season for Nonviolence” teacher awardee (2022). Allison has been a Teach Plus California Policy Fellow and Senior Fellow, and holds a position on the inaugural Coalition for Educator Diversity Action Network. Allison earned her BA in global studies with a minor in education from University of California, Santa Barbara. She holds her MA in special education and educational administration with an administrative credential from National University.
