Karen Wilson is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Arkansas Policy Fellow and is a 3rd grade teacher at Mayflower Elementary in Mayflower. She is a member of the district Instructional Leadership Team and an active mentor teacher providing guidance to local university students during their final internship. These roles present her with opportunities to support teachers, and aspiring teachers while helping them strengthen their impact as educators. She is a former member of the district Personnel Policies and Procedures Committee. Karen was named Mayflower Elementary School Teacher of the Year (2019-2020) and completed her Lead Professional Designation (2023). Karen began her teaching career with the Head Start Program where she worked primarily with families of preschool children in the home-based setting and has since taught 2nd and 3rd grade. She earned her BSE in early childhood/elementary education from the University of Central Arkansas.
