Allison Zamora is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus California Senior Policy Fellow. Allison is a middle school special education teacher leader, eSports coach, and dance team advisor at Bear Valley Middle School in Escondido, California. She focuses on educating young adolescents to grow their skills in reading and writing, while also increasing their engagement in their school and community. She advises both the school’s dance team and first ever eSports team. She also holds a position on the district’s design team. Allison has been the administrative designee for two years, while also being an AVID certified instructor. Allison was a teacher winner for Escondido Union School District’s “Season for Nonviolence” prioritizing equity and diversity. Allison earned her BA in global studies with a minor in education from University of California, Santa Barbara. She holds her MA in special education and educational administration with an administrative credential from National University.
