Amy Zombek is a 2024-2025 Teach Plus Pennsylvania Equity Leadership Institute member and a 5th grade English language arts co-teacher at South Allegheny Elementary School in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. She focuses on teaching students to read independently, interpret complex ideas, and think critically so they can become good decision makers and problem solvers. Amy has taught in the South Allegheny School District for 26 years, teaching 3rd, 4th, and 6th grade before her current position. She is a building union representative and member of the school leadership team. Amy earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood and elementary education at California University of Pennsylvania.
