Eli joins Teach Plus as New Mexico Policy and Program Manager, where he will manage the state policy and teacher leadership programs. Eli will lead the development of individual teacher and teacher team projects aimed at giving more students access to high-quality teachers and schools while also supporting state advocacy efforts on drivers that increase student opportunity and economic mobility.
Eli has extensive experience in education, having taught at both the elementary and middle school levels, including physical education, and has served as an elementary school principal. He has supported dual language programs, Title I initiatives, and social-emotional learning initiatives. As a principal, Eli worked to improve school climate and culture through cooperative learning, restorative practices, and professional development for staff. His commitment to empowering educators is evident in his role as a Professional Development and Leadership Coach, where he has collaborated with schools and districts nationwide. He has helped teachers implement curricula and engage students while coaching leaders to foster sustainable, positive change in their schools.
Eli holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from New Mexico State University and the University of New Mexico, as well as a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. In his free time, Eli enjoys traveling, spending quality time with his family, and exploring new experiences. He is also an avid fitness and sports enthusiast.
