As an Illinois Education Leadership Coach for the Chicago Change Agent program, Crystal Jameau develops and coaches Chicago teachers leading change initiatives and equity-driven projects in their respective schools. Prior to joining the Change Agent work, Crystal coached six teacher leaders in Melrose Park school district, served as Illinois’ External Affairs Coordinator where she developed the Illinois regional alumni strategy and led recruitment and selection for many of its regional programs.
Before joining Teach Plus, Crystal taught for eight years in the elementary classroom and served in multiple leadership roles as an interventionist, instructional coach, technology coordinator, and literacy liaison. She holds a B.A. in Education Studies from DePauw University and an M.S. in Organizational Leadership/Human Resource Management from Southern New Hampshire University.
Crystal remains vested in developing equity-focused content for teacher leaders and the adults that facilitate them. As a people operations and DEI leader she is especially focused on the intentional preservation of human capital. Crystal is a proud assistant pastor’s wife, mom to three children and native Chicagoan.
