Kathy Pierre

Kathy (she/her) joins Teach Plus as Senior National Coordinator of Communications and Media. A native of Florida and a graduate of the University of Florida, Kathy spent the past year as a reporter in Anderson, South Carolina, telling stories of marginalized people. One of her most recent articles tells the story of homeless students, whose numbers are growing across South Carolina. Prior to that, she was a production editor for a website and magazine in Florida, where she managed social media and oversaw the production and publication of a weekly newsletter. Kathy is passionate about championing equity for students of all backgrounds and looks forward to contributing to the work of Teach Plus in this arena.
