Kimberly Nguyen

Kimberly Nguyen (she/her) is a Senior Program and Operations Associate at Teach Plus, where she ensures smooth operations by providing essential administrative support across recruitment and selection, communications, logistics, event planning, and data and systems management. Kimberly leads recruitment and selection for the Program and Operations team, facilitating kick-off meetings, coordinating activities, managing calendars and workflows, and driving ongoing improvements to the process. She also serves as the team lead and liaison with the Communications team and co-leads the onboarding of new Program and Operations Associates as needed, all while continuing to provide critical operational support to her current regions.

Prior to joining Teach Plus, Kimberly was an art educator serving first-generation and low-income high school students within the Chicago Public Schools district and Chicago History Museum. In 2021, she was a Chicago Learning Collaborative Access Fellow and helped to research, develop, and implement classroom resources centered around AAPI Chicago histories.

In her role as board member and senior organizer of Asian Ink, a Chicago-based creative coalition, Kimberly designed the curriculum that helped launch the organization’s first summer mentorship that connected over twenty AAPI students from seven universities across the U.S to produce interdisciplinary, collaborative works of art and literature.

A passionate advocate for education, Kimberly is excited to contribute to a mission that is focused on empowering educators to advance equity, opportunity, and success for all students. Kimberly received a BA in Secondary Education Visual Art from DePaul University. In her free time, she enjoys practicing vinyasa yoga, experimenting with new recipes, and exploring the latest art exhibitions in Chicago with her partner, Alex.
