Kimberly Nguyen (she/her) joins Teach Plus as a Program and Operations Associate, where she will ensure smooth operations by providing essential administrative support in areas including recruitment and selection, communications, logistics and event planning, and data and systems management. Prior to joining Teach Plus, Kimberly was an educator serving first-generation and low-income high school students within the Chicago Public Schools district and Chicago History Museum. In 2021, she was a Chicago Learning Collaborative Access Fellow and helped to research, develop, and implement classroom resources centered around AAPI Chicago histories.
Also serving as a board member of Asian Ink, a Chicago-based creative coalition, Kimberly designed the curriculum that helped launch the organization’s first summer mentorship that connected over twenty AAPI students from seven universities across the U.S to produce interdisciplinary, collaborative works of art and literature.
A passionate advocate for education, Kimberly is excited to contribute to a mission that is focused on empowering educators to advance equity, opportunity, and success for all students. Kimberly received a BA in Secondary Education Visual Art from DePaul University. In her free time, she enjoys exploring new restaurants and spending time outdoors with her partner Alex and their dog Mina.
