Prior to joining Teach Plus, Lisset served as a School Improvement Leader and Grade Level BIlingual educator in Chicago, IL. She was an active member of the bilingual committee and collaborated on the instructional leadership team as well as the Multi-tiered support team, where her focus was on improving academic services for her school’s diverse bilingual learners and through her advocacy, she co-authored a grant that supported a Dual Language strand within her school.
She became a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow and then continued her work as a 2020 Senior Policy fellow. In 2018, she was nominated for the Golden Apple Award and received the 2018 Golden Apple Teacher of Distinction Award. As well as a finalist for the Rosetta Stones Emergent bilingual teacher of the year in 2020. Lisset earned a BA in Bilingual/Bicultural Education from Loyola University with Endorsements in English Language and Social Science and has received a grant to work on her MA as a Learning Behavior Specialist at Chicago State University. She is a strong advocate for diverse communities and closing equity gaps for students of color.
