Allison Fried is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Colorado Teaching Policy Fellow. Ally is the founding English language development (ELD) coordinator at DSST: Henry Middle School. She teaches 6th-8th ELD and leads a comprehensive ELD program and set of supports for ELLs at Henry. Previously, Ally taught high school Spanish fat a Title 1 school in Louisville, KY, where she served as department chair and hosted monthly open mic nights and. She has also taught ESL and ran the global classrooms program at a bilingual, public secondary school while on a Fulbright Fellowship to Madrid, Spain. Allyis currently an Orbis Fellow at the Orbis International Institute. She holds a BA in World Politics and Foreign Languages from Hamilton College, an MAT in Spanish (K-12) and Middle Grades Social Studies from the University of Louisville, and an MSEd in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
