Andrea Ramirez is a 2020-21 Texas Policy Fellow. She teaches 8th grade math at Tafolla Middle School in San Antonio ISD, where she is a department chair and is a Master teacher in her district. Andrea has been involved in community organizing with COPS Metro and SA RISE (San Antonio Rising in Solidarity for Educational Equity) and has organized around School Culture and Climate, Civic Engagement, and Immigration. She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a BA in Youth and Community Studies and will receive her MEd in Educational Leadership & Policy from University of Texas at San Antonio in the Fall of 2020.
