Melanie Bussiere is a 2024-2026 Teach Plus New Mexico Policy Fellow and Advanced Placement (AP) English teacher at Pecos Cyber Academy (PCA) in Edgewood, New Mexico, preparing students for the demands of college-level academics. Prior to PCA, she was the English language arts (ELA) department chair, AP and honors ELA instructor, yearbook adviser and National Honor Society adviser at Tularosa High School in Tularosa, New Mexico. Melanie has been a participant in the New Mexico Public Education Department’s Summer Review Institute for multiple years and is a member of the New Mexico Professional Practices and Standards Commission. She earned BAs in history, political science and journalism from Rutgers University, certification in paralegal studies from the American Institute for Paralegal Studies, and her MA in English at Seton Hall University.
