Byron Hannah is a 2021-2022 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow who teaches Algebra I at Yes Prep Southside in Houston. Byron is in his fourth year of teaching and also serves as a grade level chair and the Mathematics Instructional Coach and Curriculum/Assessment Coordinator for Breakthrough Houston. Byron is a Teach for America alumnus. Hannah has a published Op-Ed with Defender Network of Houston, titled “School closures more than missing instruction.” He is a proud alumnus of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he obtained a BS in Pure Mathematics and Columbia University, where he obtained a MA in Educational Leadership.
