Starr Caldwell

Starr Caldwell is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Illinois Affinity Group Facilitator and is a Transition Specialist working with 18- to 21-year-old students with the Life Program for Township High School District 214 in Arlington Heights. She focuses on helping to create robust community-based instruction and volunteer based community outreach opportunities for her students. Starr has served students in a variety of roles throughout her teaching career. Her roles include special education teacher, co-teacher, district-appointed homebound tutor, and District DEI Liaison. Her skills include facilitation in change management, problem-solving, teamwork, knowledge of planning, dialogue & inquiry, and lastly diversity/inclusiveness. As a recent recipient of the “2022-2023 Aspiring Leaders Scholarship” awarded through the Illinois Principal Association (IPA), Starr has utilized the resources provided, to foster relationships within the Leader Network and nurture the mindset of leadership intelligence, and community of peers that is necessary for aspiring administrators to envision themselves as future learning leaders. She has previously served as co-sponsor for the National Honor Society club and as a member of the African American Empowerment Leadership Committee. Starr currently is an active Board Member to Midwest Montessori Christian School in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She earned her BA in Special Education from Benedictine University, an MEd in Educational Technology from Concordia University, an MEd in Principal Leadership from North Park University, and is currently enrolled in Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) program in Educational Leadership.
