Carla Jones is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. Carla teaches a self-contained general education 3rd grade class at John W. Cook Academy, where she serves on the instructional leadership team, has helped develop the school improvement plan, and has mentored new teachers. She is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Change Agent Teacher Leader and a National Board Certified teacher. Carla serves as a Framework Specialist for Chicago Public Schools, creating and providing professional development to educators across the district. She has developed and facilitated a five-week professional development course with Teach Plus for a group of 20 teachers on how to improve their math instruction. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a BS in Education and received her MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Loyola University Chicago.
