Carlota Holder is an English language teacher at Creston Middle School and Creston Intermediate Academy in Warren Township. Carlota’s goal is to ensure that equity in education is met for students who speak other languages. She is a SIOP trainer,, charged with training secondary teachers in her district on new protocols for English Language Learners. She’s alsowon a collaborative grant with content area teachers to help support the implementation of STEM for grades 5 and 6. Carlota has taken advantage of the district’s Race to the Top grant by collaborating with colleagues to create extended day programs. She graduated from Ball State University with a BA in Liberal Arts and Spanish and received her teaching certificate in elementary-middle school education from Marian University.
