Charity Freeman is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Illinois Policy Fellow. Charity is a computer science teacher and Girls Who Code Club facilitator at Kenwood Academy High School on Chicago’s South Side. She began her work in education as a high school career advisor. She is a contributing member of the Computer Science Teachers Association and its 2019-2020 Equity Fellowship, the Association for Computing Machinery’s Special Interest Group on Computer Science Education, and the American Educational Research Association. Charity earned a BS in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship and is pursuing her MA in Cultural and Educational Policy Studies from Loyola University Chicago.
