Chris Hawkinson is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Colorado Teaching Policy Fellow. Chris teaches English language learners at Palmer High School in Colorado Springs, where she also serves as department chair. Previously, she taught high school English and journalism for 15 years and spent two years as a master teacher through the TAP system at a middle school. She is a National Board Certified teacher and the candidate manager, facilitator, and curriculum developer for the Colorado Springs District 11 National Board Certification candidate support program. Chris is a facilitator for the Colorado National Board Jumpstart program. She holds a BA in Language Arts from Peru State College, an MA in Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University, a Principal License from the University of Phoenix, and an Endorsement in Linguistically Diverse Education from University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.
