Claire Romano is a 2020-21 Texas Policy Fellow who teaches Lower Elementary at Steele Montessori Academy in San Antonio, Texas. Claire co-chairs her school’s Anti-Bias/Anti-Racism (Ab/Ar) Committee. Claire is a member of PMET (Public Montessori Educators of Texas) and presented at their 2019 Conference on applying Ab/Ar activities in the classroom. She was awarded Teacher of the Year for her campus in 2019. She is a current fellow with the Mentor Fellowship Academy in San Antonio ISD and has previously taught public Montessori programs for 10 years. She graduated from University of Dallas with a BA in Theatre and received Montessori certification from AMS (ages 6-9) and NAMC (ages 9-12).
