Katelyn Damore is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Katelyn is a reading interventionist at Austin Achieve Public Elementary School-Northeast located in Austin, Texas. She is responsible for meeting the needs of second grade scholars who are struggling with foundational reading skills to help them become successful and fluent readers. She previously served as a second grade educator and mentor teacher. Katelyn will be entering her ninth year as an educator working with emergent bilingual scholars. During her career as an educator, she has had the privilege of working internationally in Guanacaste, Costa Rica as well as in Barcelona, Spain for a combined six years of experience. She received her BA with a special endorsement in language arts composite elementary education from Hope College.
