Darius G. Thomas

Darius Thomas is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Texas DFW Policy Fellow. Darius is the Gifted & Talented teacher at Stephen C. Foster Elementary. He previously worked as a teacher in multiple schools in his native south-suburban Chicago area and taught daily English language and cultural instruction to Chinese students at Aston A+ English & Cultural Academy in Wenzhou, China. Darius started his Dallas teaching career at St. Anthony Academy in Fair Park, TX, an exemplary (IB) School. He is one of two recipients of the Dallas ISD Gifted & Talented Scholarship Award. While studying in Brazil, Darius collaborated with educators at Universidade Federal Da Paraiba-Brazil to create curriculum for an after-work adult literacy program. Darius graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois with a degree in Sociology and a minor in African American Studies, and is pursuing an MA in Education with a Gifted and Talented Specialization degree from Southern Methodist University.
