David Hennessey is a Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. David teaches U.S. government & politics and special education social studies at Glenbard North High School in Carol Stream, IL, where he also coaches football and track. David is a co-chair of North’s union and a member of the school’s technology committee. He is serving his first term as an elected Village Trustee in Carol Stream. His focus as an elected official has been on creating a prevention and education program to combat the opium/heroin crisis. David graduated from Elmhurst College with a BA in political science, attended the University of Southern California’s Price School of Public Policy, and received his MEd in special education from Saint Xavier University.
