Elissa Rabin is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. Elissa teaches 9th grade multicultural literature at Rauner College Prep in Chicago. She was a 2018 Leadership for Educational Equity Policy and Advocacy summer fellow, working at the Illinois State Board of Education. She has worked on projects for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the Community Training and Assistance Center in Boston. Elissa previously taught 9th grade pre-AP English in Harlingen, Texas where she was a 9th grade lead instructor, a digital classroom teacher, and sponsor of the poetry club and student council. A Teach for America alumna, Elissa received a BA in English and BS in Secondary Teacher Education from Drake University and an MEd in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
