Emilie LeBlanc is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Berkeley Teacher Leader. Emilie is a 6th grade English and language arts teacher at MacArthur Middle School. She has served on many district curriculum planning and review committees and has worked on the team to develop new science inquiry-based units. She is a certified district CRISS (CReating Independence through Student-owned Strategies) trainer and served as the tutorial literacy coordinator for the Chicago Reading Initiative under the Reading Excellence Act with Chicago Public Schools. She has previously sponsored the newspaper and speech and drama clubs. She received a BA in Creative Writing from Loyola University of Chicago, an MA in Teaching from Dominican University, and is pursuing her ESL endorsement from Benedictine University.
