Alexis Gage is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. She teaches 9th grade biology at Chavez High School in Houston, Texas, where she also serves as the biology lead teacher and a volleyball and softball coach. Alexis is passionate about educational equity and school discipline reform. Alexis has served as the co-chair of the Disrupting and Dismantling the School to Prison Pipeline Issue Action Team with ONEHouston and is a Teach for America Houston alum. Alexis is also a proud member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated. She received her BS in forensic anthropology from Baylor University and is currently pursuing her MPPA from the University of St. Thomas.
