Emily Gasca is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Chicago Senior Change Agent leading the Early Childhood team. She serves as a multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS) lead and bilingual reading interventionist for grades K-8th at Sadlowski Elementary School. She has been an early childhood educator for over 17 years and led three initiatives centered around literacy. She has also been a founding teacher for the bilingual program at two Chicago Public Schools. In her spare time, she has led professional developments for educators on how to cultivate a reading classroom environment filled with joy and love for reading. She previously worked with The New Teacher Center and the National Museum of Mexican Art, where she created culturally diverse art and literacy units. Her passion has led her to begin her journey as the reading environmental specialist. She graduated from Chicago State University with a BA in bilingual elementary education and earned an MA in Reading From Concordia University.
