JoMeka Gray is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. JoMeka is a kindergarten teacher at Kennedy-Powell Elementary in Temple, Texas and teaches ELAR, math, science, and social studies. She is a lead teacher for the math refinement committee and ambassador for the Teacher Incentive Allotment Committee for the school district. JoMeka has more than 10 years’ experience as an early childhood educator of diverse school populations. She became one of the first employees in her district to become a National Board Certified Teacher. JoMeka has received campus, district, and community awards including Campus Rookie of the Year and District Teacher of the Year. She has a BA in general liberal arts from Louisiana Tech University.
