Heather Duncan is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Fellow. Heather is a child development professor, consultant, trainer, coach, and a child/parent teacher at VOCEL in Chicago. A Nationally Board Certified teacher, she started her career in Posen-Robbins School District 143 ½ and founded Ahadi Early Learning Center which she directed for five years before joining Chicago Public Schools’ South Shore Fine Arts Academy team. She was a 2018 Teach Plus Early Childhood Advisory Board member, a 2018 Chicago Public Schools Teacher Ambassador, and winner of the 2018 Golden Apple For Excellence In Teaching Award. She holds a BA in English and a MEd in Early Childhood Education from University of Illinois and a certificate in Early Childhood Leadership from Erikson Institute.
