Heather Richmond

Heather Richmond is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Texas Policy Fellow. Heather is a master teacher/dual credit instructor at UT Tyler University Academy at Palestine, where she teaches English II and dual credit English composition. Heather serves as her campus’ dual credit coordinator, acting as a liaison between faculty members, students, and course facilitators. She has taught English language arts and reading to students in grades 5-12, as well as Spanish I. During the 2018-2019 school year, Heather served as a member of the first cohort of the Texas Charter School Association’s Teacher Advocacy Leadership Institute and participated in The National Council for Teachers of English Advocacy and Leadership Summit 2019 in Washington D.C. Heather received the UT Tyler University Academy at Palestine Teacher of the Year Award for 2017-2018. She holds a BA in Journalism and an MA in English from the University of Texas at Tyler.
