James Anthofer is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Colorado Teaching Policy Fellow. James teaches 11th grade US history and AP US history at DSST: Cole High School, where he serves as the Senior Academy (11th and 12th grade) grade level chair and has previously served as the poetry slam sponsor. He is the founding US History teacher at Cole. James previously taught in schools in St. Louis and Cincinnati, where he served as a wrestling and football coach. He graduated from Grinnell College with a BA in English and received his MEd in secondary education in social studies from University of Missouri, St. Louis.
