Julie Viguerie is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Mississippi Teaching Policy Fellow. Julie is a teacher academy instructor at the Lamar County Center for Technical Education in Purvis, Mississippi where she also serves as advisor for the Lamar County chapter of Educators Rising. Julie is a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Educational Foundation, Mississippi Professional Educators, and the Association for Career and Technical Education. She has taught various high school science courses, served as a mentor, was a dyslexia program coordinator for post-secondary students, and worked with k-12 teachers as an instructional technologist. Julie was selected as District Teacher of the Year for Lamar County School District in 2017. In 2008 and again in 2017, Julie achieved National Board certification in AYA science. She received a BS in Biological Sciences from the University of Southern Mississippi and a MEd in curriculum and instruction from Nicholls State University.
