Kate O’Connor is a 3rd grade teacher at E.L. Haynes Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. Kate leads a team of 3rd grade teachers in planning, teaching, assessing, and reflecting in order to support achievement for all students. She previously taught 2nd grade in Washington, where she was a Teach for America corps member. Before teaching, Kate worked in operations in Boston Public Schools, and in development and assessment at a Boston-area non-profit focusing on college readiness for non-traditional students. Kate holds a BA in political science from Wellesley College, an MEd in curriculum and instruction from George Mason University, and an MEd in education policy and management from Harvard University.
