Kate Parson is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Commonwealth Policy Fellow. Kate is a founding 5th grade teacher at Springfield Prep Charter School in Western Massachusetts, where she teaches math and science. As a grade level chair for the 5th grade team, Kate leads her K-5 school’s growth into middle school. Kate has led initiatives to create a social-emotional learning block in the middle school classes and enrichment activities in the STEM fields. Kate earned her BA from Colby College and her MA in Effective Teaching from Sposato Graduate School of Education.
