Katie Cannady is a 2018-19 Teach Plus Illinois Early Childhood Educator Fellow. Katie teaches kindergarten at the Brighton Park Campus of Acero Charter Schools in Chicago. She is a volunteer with the Rochelle Lee Teacher Award and is a two-time recipient of the grant. Katie also serves as Strike Leader for the United Educators for Justice contract negotiations. As a preschool teacher, she has helped vet and implement a social emotional curriculum at University of Chicago Charter School’s Donoghue Campus. A Teach For America alumna, Katie graduated from Northwestern University with a BS in Journalism and received her MEd in Early Childhood Education from Dominican University.
