Keishonda Simms is a Teach Plus Illinois Teaching Policy Fellow. Keishonda teaches physical education, dance, and health for preschool through 8th grade and is a math lead at William H. Ryder Math & Science Specialty School, where she also founded Manifest, a group dedicated to youth empowerment through dance and performance. Keishonda is the school’s athletic director, and a member of the instructional lead team and local school council. She has served as a member of the CPS’ district wellness champion team since 2015. Keishonda graduated from Carleton College with a BA in History and AFAM Studies and received her MA in elementary education with a specialization in middle school education from Roosevelt University.
