Kristin Beers teaches 2nd grade at Whittier Primary School in the Berkeley 87 School District, where she also participates in the school improvement planning, positive behavior and supports, and math committees. She co-wrote the district’s ELA second grade curriculum map, as well as developed and implemented school-wide initiatives to boost student achievement. Kristin previously taught in Chicago Public Schools. She graduated with a BA in Elementary Education from Western Illinois University, and received an MEd in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in English as a Second Language from National Louis University.
