Kyle Yasso is a 2019-20 Teach Plus Nevada Policy Fellow. Kyle teaches 10th grade Language and Literature and 9th grade AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) at Spring Valley High School. She is a student teacher mentor and serves as a member of Spring Valley’s AdvanceEd team, AVID site team, and school behavior team. She began her teaching career at the middle school level, where she served as an AVID Coordinator and Equity and Diversity Liaison. In 2015, during her first year of teaching, Kyle secured the R&R Partners Foundation Flip the Script Grant for her school and facilitated a student-led anti-violence campaign in partnership with the R&R marketing team. Kyle is a graduate of the National Outdoor Leadership School’s Outdoor Educator program. She earned her BS in Secondary Education from the University of Kansas and an MEd in Secondary Integrated Language Arts Education from Ohio State University.
