Katherine Larson is a 2023-2024 Teach Plus California Policy Fellow. Katherine is an 8th grade language arts teacher, academic student leadership advisor, and new teacher mentor at Bella Vista Middle School in Temecula, California. Katherine advises the student-led academic awards program at her site as well as serves as an induction coach for two new-teacher candidates. At a previous school, she was the English department head, a site technology representative for the district, created and co-advised the GSA as an after-school club for students, advised the yearbook staff, served on the AVID site team, and was a speaker on writing and student goal-setting at the 2022 New Educator’s Weekend-North. She earned a BA in English, a teaching credential, and an MA in English literature through National University, San Diego, as well as an EdD with an emphasis on reading and literacy from Capella University.
